CALENDAR OF EVENTS JULY 30- AUG 5, 2008

NOTES OF INTEREST:



-TODAY 1-6:00 pm: Community blood drive at Best Western Inn of the Ozarks. Sponsored by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE.



-Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) is offering a 4-harness beginners weaving class during session eight/July 28-August1. The instructor, Carrie Marry, would like to open the class up to any and all weavers interested in spending 5 days at the loom. Perhaps you are a weaver who could benefit from having an experienced teacher at your side as you tackle a new project. ESSA has beautiful looms to weave on or you may bring your own. There is a materials fee but that would be waived if you were bringing your own yarns. -Now thru August 15: Purchase a spot for your pet in the 2009 Good Shepherd Humane Society pet calendar. Go to the Doggy Shop or email doggythriftstores@yahoo.com for details.



-Blessing of the Animals. Local churches will be asked to remember all God's creatures and pass a collection plate for the animals housed at the Shelter.



-It's time to sign up for Yards and Yards of Yard Sales. The two-day event begins on August 1st. $15.00 registration fee. To be included on the map, (but, not in numerical order) go to the Chamber of Commerce TODAY. 253-8737.



-Drop-in classes are offered at Main Stage Creative Community Center thru August 15. Several class times, as well as lunch options are available. Call 253-8060 for information.



-Every Monday at 6:30 pm: Metaphysical Society of Arkansas meets at 68 W. Mountain St.



-Every Monday at 7:00 pm: 8-ball pool tournament in the billiards room atop the Basin Park Hotel.
