What a Great Weekend

Saturday we watched some great dancers and listened to awesome music from noon until 5pm. The rain stayed away long enough to make it a great day.

We started off with the amazing movement of UMZIMBA, those girls can really move. Kadi had a guest performer with her, one of her student's, Kirsten, who proves you don't have to grow up dancing to perform. She has been studing with Kadi and Lorna for the last two years and had her own solo piece this weekend in the park. And of course as always Kadi amazed us with her grace, elegance and stamina as she danced around the park. Watching her dance out in the heat this weekend it looked like one heck of a workout. People filled the park from front to back to see the show.

Rachel Fields and Lary Brick played a wonderful set of melodious accoustic duo's, followed by Jeff Lee.

Next was our very own Mountain Sprout who as always filled the park with their badass bluegrass. It doens't matter how many times you hear these guys, you still want more. Their earth day song was a hit as always making it clear these guys need to get back in the recording booth and get us all copies we can take home and listen to over and over again.

Last, but certanily not least, was Anna Horton. Who would have thought there could be a new young lounge singer with the ability to belt the way the girls did back in the day. She played all the old favorites transporting listeners back to a simpler time.

Sunday I skipped the park and decided to hit the water. Because of all the rain Trigger Gap was running too fast and muddy to get in, so we headed to what used to be the Bluffs. It now looks more like a little rock nub above the water, but the temperature is PERFECT. Cool but not cold, the kind of temp that after you have been in the water for a while it just feels wet, not hot, not cold, just fluid. It was a perfect weekend in the Ozarks. Next weekend's looking pretty good too!
